Delta Delta Delta T ri Delta was the perfect choice for Anne Courtenay Davis '76 for a few reasons: her mother pledged at the College of Charleston, several high school friends were members of Delta Mu, and there was a strong Christian community within the house. Through the sisterhood, she gained loyal, lifetime friendships and amazing leadership opportunities, including serving as Chapter president. Anne's sophomore year, she ran for arts and sciences senator. After serving in this position, she was inspired to follow in the footsteps of an Alpha Gam to become one of the first women to serve as the vice president of SGA. "My Tri Delta sisters were always encouraging me to go for it, and they worked hard to help me get elected. I could never have done it without them." Since sororities were not a part of the fraternity machine, it was difficult for a female to win—but the support of Anne's Delta Mu sisters remained strong. "My Little, Susan Hundley Waldrop '77, encouraged me daily, even as she ran her own senate campaign. My pledge class helped our campaign team strategize, hand out campaign brochures on the streets, design and paint my four big wooden signs that had to be moved from location to location every night, and most of all, talk to their friends!" Sisters visited men's and women's dorms and sorority houses to secure votes, which were enough to beat the machine, and Anne won! Her sisters continued to support her during her term in SGA as she presided over the student senate. At a recent SGA reunion, Anne was thrilled to learn that her love of SGA has been shared by other Delta Mus over the years, including Jessica Sanders '03 (SGA VP term: 2006-07) and Olivia Frazier. During her own recruitment, Olivia Frazier '21 was looking for a Chapter that would help her grow into the best version of herself, and she found that in Tri Delta. She loves the versatility of the members of Delta Mu and feels lucky to be uplifted and inspired by the women every day. In Olivia's freshman year, Jill Fields '18 was SGA president; when Olivia reached out to her about getting involved, she didn't hesitate to help. Olivia's sisters supported her as she ran and was elected to the SGA senate. She later served as the executive secretary and is now the vice president. "My decision to run for executive vice president was an accumulation of my passion for servant leadership and love for our campus," she shared. "Serving in SGA has been such a pivotal part of my college experience, and I knew that I wanted to continue my work as EVP. I can say with all my heart that this journey wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of my sisters." at support made Olivia believe in herself and her capabilities as a leader. "I hope that serving in such a visible position on campus has encouraged younger members that they are capable of the same." In her career, Anne is the president of e Christy-Houston Foundation Inc, which provides grants to support healthcare initiatives in Rutherford County, Tennessee, by funding nonprofit organizations in this work. Her family is her heart. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jeff, for 44 years. ey have a son, Jeff Jr., and a daughter, Courtenay Davis Ahuja '06. Anne loves being a grandmother and enjoys spending time at the lake, traveling, baking, and volunteer activities. She is currently working on Golden Circle degree plans with her pledge class. Olivia is double majoring in political science and criminal justice and will be attending e Alabama School of Law next year. In her free time, she loves going on walks or runs, attending Bama gymnastics meets, and hanging out with her friends.
