THE TOMAHAWK 5 Theta Chi at ISU TED HOVDA '73 RECEIVES THE GEORGE T. KILAVOS AWARD T he morning of our campaign leadership recognition, with his wife Susie present, Ted Hovda '73 received the George T� Kilavos Award* for his unprecedented devotion and dedication to Alpha Mu Chapter� He served on the Alumni Corporation Board since 1980—an amazing 44 consecutive years of unwavering support of our chapter� Equally impressive has been his tenure as president of the board for the latter half of this term� During this time, Ted attended nearly every Alumni Corporation Board meeting and made himself available 24/7� Those attending this recognition enthusiastically agreed: we are all honored and privileged to call Ted a brother and friend� *The George T. Kilavos Award permits the Grand Chapter, collegiate chapters, alumni chapters, house corporations, alumni associations, and other organized groups in the fraternity to officially show their appreciation of and to publicly recognize and properly honor those alumnus members of the fraternity who by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest have made meritorious contributions to the local, regional, or international general welfare of Theta Chi Fraternity.
