EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY SPRING 2025 NC Kappa Chapter News We're Coming Home! H O P E TO S E E YO U T H I S FA L L Y our North Carolina Kappa AVC has been busy this year. We are preparing for the big move this summer, when SigEp makes its triumphant return to 505 East 5th Street. We have a lot to do to get ready between now and then. Here's a short to-do list: □ Finalize our leases for the brothers who will call 505 "home." □ Furnish the common areas to ensure our guys have the best fraternity house on campus. □ Establish an agreed upon set of rules of behavior while living in or visiting the house (i.e., parlor fee, parking, etc.) □ Ensure a smooth transition with the outgoing Alpha Gamma Delta tenants. □ Transfer all utilities to NC Kappa AVC. If you haven't heard, we had a blast at ECU Homecoming Weekend. The alumni enjoyed meeting our new brothers while renewing old friendships and relationships. Bud Carr '75 and his merry men put together a well-planned weekend (including a football victory), and they promise bigger and better things coming in the fall of 2025. With our return to the chapter house, your attendance will mean a lot to the young brothers—and you'll see folks you haven't seen in years. We don't have a date yet, but be on the lookout. Let's make this the biggest Homecoming in our history! Another chance to gather with your brothers will be during our first official event at 505E5: "Get a SIGEP Heart ON!" Our beloved Red Heart will be HUNG on the front rafters (right where it belongs) after a long hiatus. This will be a celebration as well as a working weekend for those willing and able. Please save the date for June 27-29. The AGDs will have moved out and the place will be all ours! Recently, we elected new alumni board members and officers for 2025. New and current members are as follows: President Will Creech '15 President Elect Bud Carr '75 Immediate Past President Ed Tew '79 Treasurer Patrick Stewart '15 Recording Secretary David Goodwin '80 Property Manager David Price '04 Alumni-Chapter Liaison Chuck Brown '83 Additional members: Clint Cooke '78, Monty Johnson '85, Benjie Minton '79, Dickie Steffens '84, Russ Smith '86, John Kelly '15, Sam Wilson '14, and Steve Sanabria '82. Seven alumni attended the Carlson Leadership Conference in Atlanta. This presented the largest contingent of alumni in the region supporting their undergraduate chapter. Thanks to all those who got involved and made important contacts with National. This learning opportunity will help us shepherd the chapter into the future.
