RUTGERS UNIVERSITY SPRING 2025 The Raritanian I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year! Thank you to all who continue to volunteer their time and make those much-needed monetary donations to our chapter at Rutgers. This spring semester promises to be very exciting. In November, the undergraduates elected new officers and held an executive board transition retreat. The undergraduates have 18 new members from spring 2025 recruitment, but the number is sure to climb, as their recruitment period will extend all semester. This is an awesome accomplishment! In early February, the entire executive board attended the Carlson Leadership Academy in Parsippany, New Jersey. The CLA is one of the many programs hosted by our Headquarters staff. On February 16, New Jersey Alpha hosted its fourth annual Balanced Man Scholarship Dinner at The Rutgers Club. Grand Chapter President Bradley Nahrstadt, Monmouth '89 served once again as our valued keynote speaker. Finally, we look ahead to July for the Grand Chapter Conclave in Tampa. All this programming could not happen without the generous donations from our alumni. The Carlson Leadership Academy is produced and funded by our national fraternity. The Balanced Man Dinner is fully funded by our local AVC. This dinner was attended by about 120, including the award finalists, their families, Rutgers University administration, and our undergraduate and alumni brothers and friends. The chapter awarded $4,000 in scholarships to the best of the best at Rutgers. The brothers look forward to SLC certification this spring and receiving a new charter by the Chapter Conclave in July. The SLC certification will help save the chapter money in the form of lower insurance costs, and the new charter will prove the culmination of a lot of hard work. For now, our brothers can also brag about having the highest new member GPA and the third-highest overall GPA of all the fraternities on campus. HFF, Michael "Mike" Schnur '87 AVC President W e had an incredible time at the Rutgers Club for the Balanced Man Scholarship Dinner, celebrating 12 outstanding finalists who demonstrate the core values of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. The night was filled with great fellowship, and brothers enjoyed a nice dinner with finalists, friends, and alumni. Awards were also presented to current members of SigEp, including the Joe Pallis: Outstanding Brother Award—named after the 2024 SigEp president—honoring a current member for outstanding leadership and dedication. It was an unforgettable evening that showcased the values, camaraderie, and excellence that define SigEp. Alumni enjoy a Rutgers game after a recent tailgate.
