I
n prepara on for this campaign, our alumnae
leadership has researched the needs of our
undergraduate sisters, compe on on campus,
and student housing trends, working directly
with our architect, who specializes in this type of
housing. Our dream is to complete all aspects of
this project; however, the final size and scope will
be determined by our fundraising success. The
following are our primary project goals, listed in
order of priority:
Our Plan for 1212 W. 4th Street
• Create a two-story foyer with grand staircase
by removing three bedrooms and extending
the center front of the house by 12 feet.
• Increase open space on the ground floor to
accommodate our growing chapter for large
group gatherings of collegians, parents,
and alumnae.
• Enlarge kitchen and dining room for formal
dinners and large events by expanding east
and west sides.
• Add a separate buffet-style serving room (the
servery) with a snack area.
• Add a Heritage Room for small-group
mee ngs with Zoom capabili es.
• Install progressive internet technology
throughout the house.
• Add a mail room with exterior entry for
package delivery.
• Totally update the ground floor with modern
tradi onal interior design.
• Add new study lounges on the second and
third floors.
• Paint and freshen up all bedrooms.
• Redesign and expand the chapter room, and
refresh study hall and art room.
• Expand front porch across house.
• Reconfigure and update the
housemother's apartment.
• Increase den size by adding a sunroom on
west side.
• Add an ADA guest room that could
accommodate two members.
It's Exciting!
