NEWS Big Red Island Big Red Island Beta Theta Pi at Oklahoma State University / Spring 2025 WHAT'S INSIDE Our chapter had another semester of successes, awards, fun, and brotherhood. We continue to see strong academic performance, leadership, positive outcomes in shows and intramural sports, community service, and building bonds for long-lasting friendships. The chapter president's report from Luke Diener '27 is on page 2. Read more about sports, shows, Homecoming, and the results of academic competition among fraternities. Something amazing continues to be that 184 brothers and pledges can be so dedicated that 184 men can achieve such a high house grade point average. Pictures on the following pages include sports events with championships and of shows and Homecoming. Beta pairs with sororities four times in an academic year. As we know, these activities are where friendships among our brothers are developed and also where social interaction opportunities abound with sorority members. Of course, we have some sightings of alumni togetherness at lunches and other activities—these pics are included on pages 6 and 7. BETA BUILDING CORP Many of you know that our Beta Theta Pi Building Corporation owns our property at 1207 W. University. The Building Corp plays a very significant role in the continued existence and well-being of our Gamma Lambda Chapter. The Building Corp identified our future housing needs about 10 years ago and then was responsible for building our beautiful new house, which was finished in 2019. Read the Building Corp writeup on page 7. Take note and appreciate the wide range of duties and responsibilities that support our Chapter and come under the purview of the Corp. OUR BETA HOUSE In this BRI newsletter, you can see once again the strength of our chapter's educational excellence; social engagement in activities and charitable causes; leadership and personal development; and our fraternal environment of excellence and brotherly support. The outcomes for our men can be seen in college, work, and life, and with lifelong relationships with brothers. Also, a comment follows here on our remaining approximately $4 million in debt on our wonderful new house. Your additional gifts will help reduce this debt and go toward our ongoing property cleaning, facility maintenance, fixed asset replacements, reducing house bills, and opportunities for partial housing scholarships. If you have questions about donations, inquiries can be directed to a Building Corp member (see page 7) or a BRI editor (see the top of page 8 for sending or receiving contact information). Supporting the Beta house is a great way to show your pride, as our active brothers have many of the same values, goals, and passions as many of our alumni. Your gifts are a good investment in our Gamma Lambda brotherhood. Please reflect on gifting to our strong chapter of Beta Theta Pi. Read, look, and enjoy! Sincerely and yours in _kai_, Greg Colpitts '88 Larry Maguire '65 ACCOMPLISHMENTS EVERYWHERE House GPA - 3.56 Freshmen Follies - 2nd Place HC Decoration - 2nd Place Fall Sports • Soccer Intramurals - 1st • Sand Volleyball - 1st • GBA Basketball - 1st • Ultimate Frisbee - 1st • Bowling - 1st Beta Theta Pi paired with the women of Kappa Delta and won 2nd Place in the Homecoming house decorations.
