XI CHAPTER PAGE 2 O ur brotherhood is thriving with 60 active brothers on campus, nine juniors studying abroad, and 20 brothers living in the house. Our members are deeply involved in campus life, contributing to the Admissions Office, Career Center, Office of Advancement, Phi Beta Kappa, and Office of Residential Life. On the athletic front, five brothers are varsity athletes representing football, soccer, squash, and softball. Notably, Anthony Crossman '26 (#49) and newly initiated Jay Watson '27 (#12) helped Wesleyan win the NESCAC football championship, continuing the Xi's legacy of athletic excellence. We were thrilled to welcome 12 new brothers on December 7, 2024. Drawn from a pool of over 115 applicants, these new brothers all demonstrate strong leadership potential and reflect a diverse and representative cross-section of the Wesleyan community. They are already contributing to the Xi in meaningful ways. The Xi house continues to be a leading space on campus for all things service and social. Our parties and events consistently attract over 300 attendees, including our flagship event of the fall semester—a Halloween party crawl co-hosted with Alpha Delta Pi and Eclectic. Led by Service Chairmen Anthony Crossman '26 and Malachi Johns '27, community service is back in full swing at the Xi. Brothers participated in service opportunities each week of the fall semester, including volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, participating in Habitat for Humanity, cleaning the CT River through the Source to Sea initiative, and sorting over 9,000 pounds of produce at CT Foodshare to provide meals for upward of 15,000 families. We also hosted Traverse Square's after-school program, engaging local children with activities and games. As part of the pledging process, all pledges participated in at least one service event. In total, the Xi reached 205 hours of service with over 80% of the brotherhood taking part. On October 12, we revived the "Fire Marshal Dinner," hosting on-duty Middletown FD firemen for a meal and conversation as we thanked them for their ongoing service to the Middletown community. The evening was filled with camaraderie, and as the firefighters left on a call, they praised the meal as "the best PsiU dinner they've ever had." We look forward to continuing this annual tradition in the years to come. Speaking of food, the brothers enjoyed weekly Tuesday dinners at the house, featuring family-style meals by Chef Kaile. The Xi also hosted a few catered events, which, on one occasion, involved hiring two hibachi chefs for an interactive hibachi experience right inside the Xi's main hall. Brothers enjoyed attempting the classic hibachi feat of catching chef-flung shrimp in our mouths, and a few lucky brothers got to put on an apron and help the chefs cook. As we reflect on the semester, we're proud of the goals we've achieved, the traditions we've rekindled, and the connections we've built. We're deeply grateful for the alumni support that helps us honor our past while shaping the future of the Xi!
