The last time I attended one was at the Amherst Chapter in 1962. I recall a wonderful facility with incredible members. Since that time, the Chapter was sadly closed by the disbanding of the Greek system at Amherst University, so I had little idea of what to expect from attending this time. What has transpired is the awakening and expansion of ADPhi International and the fact that the Geek system is alive and well! Joining Alumni President Micheal Derr '84, Chapter President Griffin Marich '25, and Vice President Carson Nakagawara '26 was a major positive. We were able to become better acquainted with each other as we focused on the agenda. Here are some of my highlights and reflections: • Meeting several Brothers from Canada and the U.S. and talking with those from the Toronto and McGill Chapters was particularly special. • Seeing the result of the expansion and growth of ADPhi. We witnessed the formal induction of the Iowa Chapter into ADPhi. • Seeing firsthand the competency of the Board of Governors and the administrative staff. They are all outstanding. • Hearing about future actions for expanding and improving services to all Chapters now being undertaken and in progress. • Seeing why other Chapters are getting awards that we used to receive frequently. It's a wake-up call to us, exposing where we need to improve! • Realizing that the most successful Chapters are the ones actively supported by strong local alumni commitments. • Having the personal experience and knowledge that we belong to and are a part of a greater brotherhood. Brothers, it is my plea for greater attendance at future Conventions from our alumni and undergraduates. It is fun, instructive, and eye-opening. Join and experience that we belong to a greater brotherhood helping young men attain moral, academic, and social growth toward maturity. Thanks to our founder, Samuel Eells.
