Alpha Chi Omega 3 T his semester, we have been actively involved in terms of philanthropy and ritual, trying to bring our wonderful chapter back to the standards and traditions set forth by our founding members and Alpha Beta sisters. We celebrated a successful Founder's Day dinner, as VP Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation Alexa Potaczek '22 and VP Philanthropy Ashleigh Schetter '22 teamed up to shed light on our efforts for domestic violence awareness. This was Alpha Beta's first formal dinner since the pandemic, and our chapter members were excited to participate in formal dinner rituals and network with alumnae. Check out some pictures on page 1! We also recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month during October through DVA Week, where we hosted various events to spread awareness within our local communities, including Purdue's campus and the YWCA of Greater Lafayette. Events included Nothing Bundt DVA, which involved members taking to Purdue's campus to sell Nothing Bundt Cakes to spread awareness. We also enjoyed the DVA Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, where our sisters acted as coaches for various fraternity teams, suiting their men up in costumes and heels before sending them on a 4x4 relay race! After these lighthearted events, Ashleigh closed out the weekend with our candle lighting ceremony, inviting speakers from the YWCA to share their stories and a special moment with our sisters. Other executive board members have been working hard to ensure our chapter continues to thrive, including VP Recruitment Whitley Judd '22 and VP Recruitment Information Olivia Lund '22, who brought us one of the most successful recruitments yet. Out of 1,200 potential new members, only 32 did not choose Alpha Beta (That's 97%!). I am grateful for and proud of our entire executive board for the hard work they have put in this past year. I know we're all going to miss serving this amazing chapter. Parker Sikora '22, a junior studying finance and marketing, will be pursuing a business internship at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She will gain valuable hands-on experience with a company renowned for its commitment and innovation. Parker is excited for the time of learning and growth this opportunity will bring! Leaders on Campus We are proud of the women of Alpha Beta who have been serving in various roles around campus. Here are just two of our hardworking sisters: Natalie Struzik '22 is a member of the Purdue Gold Dusters team, where she balances performing at Purdue athletic events with managing her studies. We love cheering her on from the stands! Natalie is a junior studying communications. Fiona Parker '23 is a freshman studying integrated business and engineering with a pre-law focus.
