FFA is the largest student led organization in the world with over one million members
across the United States, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Since 1928, FFA has
been dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of students by developing their
potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through
agricultural education. For me, FFA is so much more than just an organization - it's
home. FFA has brought me opportunity, it has brought me connection, and it has
brought me a sense of belonging. I was honored to serve as a state FFA officer last
year, given the opportunity to travel the state of Oklahoma and make an impact in
nearly 30,000 students lives. Recently, I have returned from the National FFA
Convention where I competed as a National FFA Officer candidate as well as received
my American FFA Degree, which is the highest award one can receive in the
organization. Although not elected to serve as a National FFA Officer, the preparation
process taught me much about myself and contributed greatly to my personal growth.
I have been blessed to serve the organization on a local, state, and national level, and
I'll always be thankful for the blue corduroy jacket that ultimately shaped me into the
person I am today.
