"I interned at Midwest Growth Partners, a private equity firm based in West Des Moines. Throughout the internship, I had the opportunity to develop my technical and qualitative finance skills. I actively worked on live deals, helping with everything from initial searches to deal closure. My responsibilities included analyzing potential investments, participating in management meetings, and collaborating with bankers, providing me with hands-on learning experience. I also worked on presentations for internal discussions, further strengthening my understanding of the deal-making process and improving my ability to communicate financial insights effectively." –Adam Hasan '26 "The past two summers, I interned at Summit Agricultural Group as an investment analyst intern. I was able to work on a variety of the company's investments, including their Brazilian ethanol business and their upcoming sustainable aviation fuel. I was also able to get hands-on experience with large-scale agriculture, visiting cattle barns and facilities that raise sow pigs. I have gained extensive knowledge about the agriculture and renewable energy industries and will look back positively on my experience at Summit." –Ethan Walz '26 "I worked for Foster Group as a wealth management intern in their West Des Moines office. I worked on a large management agreement that went along with the new customer pricing agreement; this was supported by upper-level management. I did a lot of meeting prep and research of clients as well as potential new clients, which provided good insight to the business development side of the industry. Lastly, I sat in on client meetings to gain hands-on experience and learn how different advisors go through their process." –Max Simmons '26 "I interned at Houlihan Lokey as an investment banking summer analyst, covering the industrials sector in their Chicago office. I worked on various mergers and acquisitions for large corporate clients by assisting in building financial models, marketing materials, in-depth company analysis, and answering diligence questions from prospective buyers. I am excited to announce I will be returning full-time after graduating this May." –Mitch Joines '25 the hawKeye page 4 "I thank the brothers of Phi Kappa Psi for sponsoring this scholarship, and I congratulate the recipients. The legacy of Nile Kinnick reflects the values we hold here at Iowa, including teamwork and service to society as well as individual achievement. Iowa's Heisman Trophy winner was devoted to both his studies and his athletic accomplishments, and the scholarship honors well-rounded young men who are on a path to success that is exemplified by Nile Kinnick." –President Wilson An array of Iowa Alpha members returned to Iowa City to celebrate this year's Kinnick scholars. "Service and philanthropy have been integral parts of my college experience so far. Whether raising money for Dance Marathon, participating in our 5K, or attending different service events with my Brothers, I've aimed to find different ways to give back to my college community. Phi Psi has been an amazing way to serve others while growing closer with my best friends." Nearly two-thirds of the Chapter had internships this summer.
