LAMBDA CRESCENT | Fall 2024 Brothers celebrate the start of the fall semester with a "Back to the Books" barbecue, where they welcomed potential new members to the chapter house. The National Convention delegation celebrates Lambda's successes with Neil Fruechte #796, Hall of Fame inductee, and Bill Manwarren #944 as they pose with their hardware. F all. The season of harvest, reflection, and the culmination of a year's hard work. As my teammates and I near the end of term and Lambda Chapter readies for semester's end, we take this time to celebrate our successes and reflect on the past year. Since the last edition of Lambda Crescent arrived, we've achieved much while keeping recruitment, brotherhood, academics, and professional development as steadfast priorities. In August, nine collegiate brothers, two alumni delegates, and House Director Mrs. G attended the AGR National Convention in Sacramento. Brother Neil Fruechte #796 was inducted into the National AGR Hall of Fame, honoring his dedication to AGR and our brotherhood. Lambda also earned a Gold Chapter rating, highest honors for Chapter Adviser, high honors for Best Housemother, and five additional chapter awards. Representing Lambda nationally was a privilege. Shortly after returning, the Minnesota State Fair began. Lambda sold parking spots for the fair, generating $4,000 to support winter plowing and parking lot maintenance. Collegiate brothers also volunteered at the Minnesota Beef booth, where their efforts earned a donation for the chapter. Brothers worked tirelessly at the Gopher Dairy Bar, exhibited livestock, sponsored an event for the Minnesota Junior Barrow Classic, and donated $1,500 to the Minnesota Dairy Showcase. The fair was an incredible opportunity to support our agricultural community and promote Lambda. This fall, we initiated eight outstanding new brothers and hosted another successful philanthropy event: a date auction led by Brother Jacob Harbaugh #1871 with brother Keenan Thygesen #1868 auctioneering. We raised more than $4,000 to support agricultural youth programs like 4-H and FFA. Academically, Lambda achieved a 3.45 GPA in the spring, ranking fifth among 25 IFC chapters and first on the St. Paul campus. As we close the semester, we're grateful for the guidance of House Director Mrs. G and brothers Durhman #1704, Reveland #1838, and Stevermer #1787 as advisers. We look forward to celebrating the successful conclusion of the fall 2024 semester. Thank you once again for your support this year. May you cherish time with loved ones in the months ahead and reflect on a year well lived.
