I write this note on behalf of the Saint Paul Gopher Coalition, a united front composed of leadership from the five St. Paul Greek houses and the CFANS Alumni Board. We are also open to working with alumni leaders from other colleges in St. Paul. Since we first convened a few years ago, our coalition has been steadfastly focused on supporting the University of Minnesota's pivotal decision to recommit to food, agriculture, and natural resources, along with renewed investment in the St. Paul campus itself. This realignment is an exciting opportunity, and we invite you to join us in championing these efforts for the benefit of future generations. Our optimism has grown under the leadership of President Rebecca Cunningham, who has shown a clear commitment to these critical areas. We believe her vision and dedication to strengthening the university's focus on food and agriculture align with the values and history that have defined our campus. Looking ahead, we encourage you to lend your voice to legislative advocacy efforts in the new year. Renewed support is essential to modernize research and teaching facilities on campus as well as to enhance facilities and strengthen outreach positions in greater Minnesota's research and outreach centers. Your engagement will be instrumental in ensuring that Minnesota remains a leader in agricultural research and education. Additionally, we ask you to participate in the University of Minnesota's regent selection process. Adding another regent with a strong focus on St. Paul will reinforce the U's commitment to agriculture and natural resources, ensuring these priorities remain central to our institution's mission. By joining us in these efforts, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture at the University of Minnesota. Together, we can advocate for the infrastructure, resources, and leadership that will drive innovation and support the next generation of leaders in food and natural resources. Thank you for your continued dedication to the St. Paul campus and to the legacy of the University of Minnesota. Fraternally, Lucas Sjostrom #1645 House Corporation President lsjostrom@gmail.com (320) 429-4838 Our Campus Needs Us F all is busy with campus career fair preparations. We're perfecting résumés and cover letters and learning how to confidently approach and engage industry representatives. We are learning interview skills and how to engage in internship and career job conversations. Based on survey feedback from undergraduates, I've led professional development seminars at chapter meetings on a variety of topics, including Behaviors That Define You as Professional, How to Work a Room, The Single Best Place to Find a Job, and The Value of the Questions You Ask in an Interview. These sessions are designed to equip students with the skills and confidence to succeed in their career journeys. In the role of "housemother," I have the privilege and responsibility of building on the foundation parents have set by teaching social business etiquette skills. Each Monday before dinner, I share a single dining tip to help prepare for our Etiquette Dinner, scheduled for February 27 at North Oaks Golf Club. Upperclassmen can often be heard instructing our younger members in dining practices as lively conversations take place. How to plan and prepare for a social event, as well as knowledge of host and guest responsibilities, come in handy as we host alumni speakers, neighbor date events, and a faculty dinner. The everyday interactions with the undergraduates are truly the highlight of my role. I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn alongside them, share in their laughter, and support them as they navigate this exciting chapter. As always, I invite you to visit us at the house—we'd love to have you! Sincerely, Mrs. G (Teri Gustafson) House Director M R S .
