T he new academic year has been off to a great start following another successful recruitment effort over the summer where we welcomed 19 new members. The senior class has remained a major presence as they moved into the annex this autumn. Ensuring a depth of experience is sustained at Theta Delta is a major priority of mine, and I am excited to see it continue by revitalizing the precedent for undergraduates living on the property all four years. 183RD CONVENTION Over the summer, Will Rogers '25, Vishwa Chandra '26, Logan Dice '27, and I attended Convention at Alpha Nu in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This experience was truly tremendous for the four of us, and we intend to use the knowledge we gained to propel the success of the Alpha even further. NEW MEMBER EDUCATION PROGRAMMING Jack Prichard '25, Will Rogers, and John Novak '25 have been leading this effort, which has been going very well. We aimed to create an even smoother transition into collegiate life this year through the implementation of the online classroom software, Canvas, to better advance and innovate the new member education progress. All three of these brothers share a great wealth of knowledge and unique experiences over their years at Theta Delta. HIGH-VISIBILITY LEADERSHIP ROLES On campus, our brothers continue to take on major roles. Jack Prichard, specifically, is nearing the end of his term as IFC president. His role on the executive council, however, will be followed by Colin Chatham '27, who just won the election for IFC vice president. THANKS, JOHN! We also continue to benefit from an engaged alumni base. John Blacksmith '88 came by in October to give his annual Financial Basics Talk program. John also rocked the Lodge with his cover band and their collection of great '80s music! SERENADE SUCCESS Speaking of music, our Choragus team, directed by Colin Chatham and Max Neal '27, led our new member class to an excellent performance for serenades! It included a great rendition of the song "Linger" by The Cranberries with some adapted lyrics, including "Do you have to let it linger?" being replaced by a resounding, "Do you want to come to Chi Psi?" We look forward to the initiation of this new class of gentlemen early this January and our continued journey toward excellence in all facets through the 2024-25 academic year!
