THE ROAD AHEAD Prepare our property and our Chapter to move back into our beautiful house at 500 S. College Avenue. Organize alumni in advisory roles and responsibilities. Serve as officers and members on the house corporation board. Support our Chapter financially with ongoing donations and maintain financial stability. Continue building positive relations with the university, Sigma Chi HQ, and the entire student community at Mizzou. Always recruit new members who meet the high qualities and leadership potential that we stridently maintain. The The Tiger Sig Published by the Xi Xi ChaPter alumni assoCiation of sigma Chi fraternity COLUMBIA, MISSOURI FALL 2024 We have been here before and are now reminded what it means to have an active Chapter we can all be proud of. We have also seen how quickly it can deteriorate and bring us to another demise. It can happen again unless we all pay attention and do the work necessary as alumni to guard well the standards. We need to work together in a sustained effort for years and decades to get on top and stay there. In the past, we have sometimes measured our success in the quantity of our undergraduate membership and the numbers pledging, initiating, and living in the house. Going forward, it will be measured by the quality of our Chapter members and their achievements in leadership, philanthropy, scholarship, and most importantly, the strength of their brotherhood! Let's stay together in the sacred bonds of Sigma Chi and achieve greatly, Brothers. History was made and a final standing ovation erupted when Grand Pro Consul Ryan Temby, Rutgers '90 signed the official recharter of Xi Xi Chapter of Sigma Chi at the climax of the evening. Grand Praetor Rob Westrich, St. Louis University '85 emceed the proceedings, and honored guests included Dr. Mun Choi, president of the University, Christoper Jefferson, director of fraternity and sorority life at Mizzou, and Des Robinson and Jorvis McGee, Sigma Chi Chapter Expansion. Brother Temby and other dignitaries addressed the assembled audience of 150 undergraduates, parents, alumni, and Sigma Chi International management staff and volunteers. The event capped off a weekend of initiation activities and the investiture ceremony welcoming 50 new Brothers into the bonds of Sigma Chi brotherhood; it was a moment in our collective history that will be remembered proudly. And now, the real work begins! We have an active Chapter again at Mizzou thanks to the former Associate Chapter (Colony) and their five Founders and leaders— undergraduates who were attracted to Sigma Chi values and shared a vision of a rechartered Xi Xi Chapter. They were supported and guided in their quest by Sigma Chi International officers and staffers, dedicated alumni, and volunteer leaders from many Chapters. They got us to this bright new day by doing everything right, and now we all must work together to keep it going forward in the same way!
