THE TIGER SIG Page 2 U N D E R G R A D U A T E U P D A T E I t finally happened. On October 5, 2024, after two and a half years as an associate Chapter, Sigma Chi Fraternity granted a charter to the 50 newly initiated Brothers of Xi Xi Chapter at the University of Missouri. Surrounded by amazing alumni, family, friends, and the Brothers of Theta Iota and Theta Eta Chapters, we celebrated Xi Xi's triumphant return at an installation banquet shortly after the initiation ceremonies. THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGHT WERE ENDLESS: → John Qualy '70 sending in the $5,000 winning bid for the pen that signed the Xi Xi charter over the phone from Kuala Lumpur. → Tyler Thomas '25, Daniel Feiste '27 and Adam Dickinson '25 each receiving Thomas Cowan Bell Chapter Scholarships. → Harper Kissee '25 and Andrew Hahs '25 receiving scholarships of their own courtesy of Jim McFerrin '67 and John Qualy '70, respectively. → Grand Pro Consul Ryan Temby, Rutgers '90 presenting four deserving undergraduate Brothers with Grand Consul's citations: Tyler Thomas '25, Gregory Goetz '25, Kyle Milburn '26, and Frank Colvett III '25 each claimed one, while Andrew Hahs '25 and Nathan Fields '25 also received certificates of appreciation. We would like to recognize all the alumni in attendance, especially those responsible for awarding the scholarships, donating, or helping plan and run our initiation. Your support means the world to all of us, and we can't thank you enough! Even in the wake of these celebrations, the academic success of the Chapter has not slowed. We have maintained our focus on raising our cumulative GPA. The Sigs finished the spring 2024 semester with a 3.49, placing second overall among all 29 IFC fraternities on campus. Through constant encouragement, the implementation of a new program called "fantasy academics," and not being afraid to hold his Brothers accountable when needed, Scholarship Chairman Kolby Armon '26 has played a pivotal role in leading the Chapter to this accomplishment. The rebirth of Xi Xi Chapter at Mizzou marks a proud milestone and the start of an exciting new chapter. Our initiation celebrates the dedication and brotherhood that define us. As we move toward our new home at 500 S. College Avenue in August and continue excelling academically, we remain committed to Sigma Chi's values of friendship, justice, and learning. With the strong support of our alumni and the momentum set by our previous successes, Xi Xi is back and ready for a bright future.
