FA L L 2 024 • N E WS L E T T E R O ur 2112: The House That Built Us capital campaign was established as a testament to the Chapter House that has been home to countless Pikes at Iowa State. Pi Kappa Alpha has left a unique, indelible mark on each of us, and it's crucial that we act now to ensure future generations can enjoy a similar experience by living at 2112 Lincoln Way. PHASE 1 UPDATES I am pleased to share that heavy construction has been underway since July. Phase 1 has mainly focused on resolving 90 years' worth of drainage issues, critical to shoring up the foundation of the house. The backyard has been graded, a new wall constructed between PIKE and Beta, hundreds of tons of concrete have been poured, and various safety measures, including property lighting, have been installed. We invite all alumni to stop by the Chapter House to see this progress for yourself the next time you're in Ames. For now, we hope you enjoy the photos in this issue. DO YOUR PART FOR ALPHA PHI Over eighty alumni have donated to the campaign, and we continue to seek support to achieve the full scope of this project. Phase 1 may be complete, but we need further support to secure financing to begin Phase 2 and proceed to major renovations inside the house. Remember, you can make a one-time donation or contribute through a pledge spread out across recurring payments. Simply put, we need your help now more than ever to provide for the future of Alpha Phi Chapter. I encourage you to support the campaign by scanning the QR code or visiting alphaphi-pike.causevox.com. We also need your help to spread the word to fellow alumni about the state of the campaign. Let's all continue to do our part to secure a bright future for Pi Kappa Alpha at Iowa State. Construction on the new drainage system that discharges into the city of Ames storm sewer system, ensuring surface water from upstream sources and our property flows into a system instead of collecting on our property and flooding the parking lot, yard, and basement. A new, structurally sound and properly draining concrete block wall replaces the eroding western retaining wall along the Beta property.
