The BATTLEFIELD SIG theta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Gettysburg college Fall 2024 W ith the arrival of fall weather, I hope you all have been able to enjoy the change in foliage and the return of football season. Though the leaves show new colors, our alumni and the House Corporation continue to prove our brotherhood's enduring, perennial nature extends well past the bounds of our collegiate home. FUNDING OUR SX SCHOLARSHIPS Now that the 160th anniversary is behind us, we look forward to guiding the chapter to its 165th. Recently, the House Corp ran a successful campaign to raise scholarship funds for qualifying undergraduates. Our alumni contributed just under $3,000 in a little over a month. Thanks to the generosity of our brothers, we can sustain the Gerry Royals '54 and Jeff Gier '22 scholarships for an additional 2-4 years. Although the initial goal has been met, this campaign will continue until January 1; donations may be made at gettysburgsx.causevox.com. HOMECOMING AND THE HOUSE CORP Homecoming 2024 activities were successful in bringing the fraternity together. On September 20-21, nearly two dozen brothers from a range of class years attended a happy hour welcome party at The Upper Crust and a barbecue luncheon at the chapter house. Attendees then voted in this year's House Corp Board. Reprising their roles are Chris Severini '18, Michael Boncardo '18, High Garst III '20, Kevin Isky '21, Alec Cottone '17, and Gus Brouillard '22. (Get to know them better on page 3!) NEGOTIATING WITH GETTYSBURG House Corp is currently in negotiations with Gettysburg College to restructure our licensing agreement to use the chapter house. The College spurred these negotiations to homogenize housing agreements between all fraternities occupying College-owned buildings. Formal language has not yet been finalized and the House Corp is zealously working to secure the most favorable terms for our chapter. More information will become available in the future. WE WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU! As always, House Corp thanks you for your continued support of Theta Chapter and for being a valued member of our readership! Don't forget to stay in touch with us by email at thetahousecorp@gmail.com, on the Sigma Chi Theta Alumni Network Facebook page, or via LinkedIn at Sigma Chi: Gettysburg Alumni Network.
