FALL 2024 Inside: Traditions Worth Preserving p. 2 Welcome, New Members! p. 2 Beta Iota Remains Involved p. 3 A Golf Tournament to Remember p. 4 GLAZEBROOK GAZETTE The W e have a packed fall edition of The Glazebook Gazette, and I'm extremely excited to share our recent activities with you. Remembering Brother Walt Ehmer '84 Before diving in, I want to acknowledge a tremendous loss to our brotherhood with the passing of Walt Ehmer '84. Walt will be remembered for a lifetime of service to Georgia Tech and Alpha Tau Omega, helping to shape the Institute with his participation on the Georgia Tech Foundation Board of Trustees, the Georgia Tech Advisory Board, ISyE Advisory Board, and the steering committee for Transforming Tomorrow. To honor Walt's memory, we're dedicating our recent chapter house renovation to him with a plaque to be installed in the chapter room. Come See Our Renovated Home Look below for a highlight on the renovation—a tremendous thank-you to the alumni whose generosity helped make it happen. We'd love for you to see it in person during Homecoming weekend at the following events: • Open house and happy hour at Monday Night Brewing (Friday, November 8) • Alumni tailgate at the chapter house (Saturday, November 9) Keep an eye out for detailed invites via email and on social media. First-Ever Golf Event a Success On September 29, we hosted the first-ever Beta Iota Alumni Golf Tournament at Stone Mountain Golf Club. We had nearly 40 alumni and actives participate, raising $1,000 for ATΩ Foundation's newly instated Jakob Martin Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to all who attended— we're already looking forward to next year! Beta Iota on the Rise Finally, let's congratulate our chapter for its True Merit Runner-Up Award at this year's ATΩ Congress. Thank you for your continued support of the chapter. We have a lot of positive momentum right now; between the chapter's national honors, a newly renovated chapter house (who'd have thought?), and a successful alumni event, Beta Iota is on the rise. Let's stay the course and, as always, if you'd like to join the BOT, please let me know!
