PAGE 2 A L P H A C H I O M E G A S P R I N G S U C C E S S E S We are so proud of our accomplishments this spring! Our commitment to academic excellence remained steadfast, as 117 of our sisters made the dean's list! Cookie Dough with A Chi O was one of the most successful fundraising events we have had in the past 10 years. Members spent the day on the Ohio State Oval while also spreading the important message of Domestic Violence Awareness. We hope to repeat this success for our Cookie Dough event this October! S T A R T I N G S T R O N G This autumn, we are a chapter of 174 strong women after welcoming home 30 new sisters. Efforts are already underway to prepare for formal recruitment in 2025, as our members have been participating in recruitment workshops. The member class of '25 will be here in just a few short months! We take great pride in our chapter home and are profoundly grateful to have another group of remarkable women join us. C O N V E N T I O N Over the summer, Michaela Kopczewski '22 and I had the honor and opportunity to attend the 62nd National Convention of Alpha Chi Omega in Indianapolis. It was a fantastic weekend of reflecting on our ritual, strengthening our sisterhood, making new connections, and reflecting on the previous and next biennium for Alpha Chi Omega. It was truly a rewarding experience, and I am thankful to have been able to represent Alpha Omicron. P E R S O N A L D E V E L O P M E N T Members have already participated in a presentation from OSU Votes about how to be an informed voter and learned about media literacy. In the coming weeks, we will hear from Ohio State Student Leadership Advocates about networking and participate in a workshop on health and wellness in addition to a variety of member development, inclusive excellence, and harm reduction workshops. A big thank you to VP Intellectual Development Grace Wyszynski '23 for organizing these workshops. C O M M U N I T Y I N V O L V E M E N T We are enthusiastic about a range of impactful events, including our renamed "Kisses for Consent," formerly known as "Best Kisser." This initiative aims to promote healthy relationships and facilitate conversations around consensual language. Partnering with other Greek Life organizations, we distribute pamphlets for CHOICES, educate participants about what makes a healthy relationship, and offer engaging activities for colligate students. Central to the event is the question, "Love is?" which encourages meaningful dialogue and reflection. Through this event, we aspire to broaden the campus conversation on consent and healthy relationships. S I S T E R H O O D E V E N T S The sisterhood of Alpha Omicron continues to grow. A special thank you is due to our VP membership programming, Catherine Steele '23, for organizing weekly opportunities for members to engage. We have had Italian charm bracelet-making and goat yoga events and will soon host Alpha Chi's father figures for a weekend of football and fun. We are also looking forward to a movie theater rental and a trip to the Clintonville/ Worthington Farmers' Market! It has been an honor and a joy to serve as Alpha Omicron's chapter president for 2024. I am excited to see what the rest of this fall has in store for our chapter!
