The Hawkeyes' 67-59 victory over Northwestern last weekend gives Stringer a 499-111 career coaching record, the third best among active coaches. An Iowa vic- tory over Indiana would put Stringer in select company, joining Texas' Jody Conradt and Ten- nessee's Pat Summitt as the only women's coaches with 500 wins. As her team prepared to face the Hooeiers this week, Stringer down- played her approaching career milestone. In fact, the Hawkeye head coach expressed concern that the 500th win could be a diatrac- tion for her team. "I would much rather (have the team) forget about it and just play like usual," she said.
