O U R H O U S E I S B AC K A N D W E ' R E B U I L D I N G T H E B ROT H E R H O O D A s you know, Alpha Gamma Delta sorority has been leasing our house for the past five years. They have been perfect tenants, and our house has been in the best shape since we purchased it in 1964. The lease with AGD was due to mature in June 2026. Now here's the big news: AGD has the opportunity to sign a long-term lease on another property; we have negotiated a termination agreement that allows AGD to exit the house early and for North Carolina Kappa Chapter to move into the house a year earlier than anticipated. The negotiations resulted in both sides benefiting, and both are very happy. Our younger brothers are ecstatic about this turn of events. We have a lot to do over the next year, but getting back into the house is exactly what we have been looking to accomplish since we rechartered in early 2024. As you can imagine, having a house for all to gather makes North Carolina Kappa a more attractive place to build a brotherhood. Still, building a brotherhood is the key. Having a house is great, and utilizing it properly can help in the effort. News from your Alumni Volunteer Corporation • Finances have been stabilized, and we are in a healthy position to proceed into the future. • Our beloved house at 505 E. 5th Street is now paid in full. • The house is in the best shape ever! If you are in town this fall, you owe it to yourself to ride by and take a look (do not try to go in—yet!). • We hope to have a huge showing for Homecoming this year. • A strong Mentor Board has been established to help guide North Carolina Kappa Chapter leadership. This effort is led by Chuck Brown '83. A big thank you to all the volunteers giving generously of their time to help our brand-new chapter get off the ground!
