HONORING THE PAST, BUILDING FOR THE NEXT CENTURY It's Go Time! Demolition Is Underway B R O T H E R S , W E N E E D Y O U N O W Are you not receiving our emails? Send your preferred email to updatemyrecord@penningtonco.com! A s you know, the official renovation of the DU Illinois Chapter House began this spring and hit a pivotal phase over the summer as the crews at 312 E. Armory shifted their focus to demolition. The second and third floors are now stripped down to the studs as our amazing crews prepare for the next project phase. In both this mailing and our online updates, you'll see plenty of "during" and "after" demolition photos. This phase also uncovered long-lost artifacts from past residents (some nostalgic, some best forgotten) as well as a family of squirrels whom we have kindly asked to vacate "The Pit." It's been surreal to see this stripped-down version of our home and ponder the memories made in these walls—and all the new ones we'll make next year. The next phase of Illinois Chapter has begun. If you're waiting on the sidelines, now is the time to join us. Careful planning and balancing of financing have gotten us this far, but as construction surges forward, our need for funding remains. We need alumni to continue fulfilling their pledges, recruiting friends and family to join the cause, and stretching themselves to ensure the strongest future for Illinois Chapter. Delta Upsilon will have the nicest home at the University of Illinois in fall 2025, but the overall success of this project requires each alumnus to join in and commit what they can. To date, 216 donors (representing just 15% of our membership) have committed more than $3.4 million to the renovation. With a goal of $4 million, we hope to welcome more brothers to the list of supporters and bring our participation percentage up substantially. It is important to us that as many brothers as possible are represented in this effort. The newly renovated Chapter House will be our legacy as alumni, and we want to ensure our donor list reflects that. We extend our sincere thanks to the donors with open pledge schedules for honoring your commitment with timely payments and considering an additional gift. For those who have yet to participate, please give what you can today! With the help of alumni, we are confident we will reach, and surpass, our goal in no time. Please use the enclosed pledge card or visit duillinois.causevox.com to submit your gift today. Pledges can be spaced out over time to help maximize your giving; one-time donations are also welcomed and greatly appreciated!
