2 The WISE OLD OWL E psilon Kappa enjoyed another excellent academic year filled with achievements across all areas. We are pleased to share an update. ACHIEVEMENTS We are proud to announce that we have received the Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award for the second year in a row, the Leadership Development Pillar of Excellence, and the Collaboration Award for campus. On top of these accomplishments, Carson Kane '24 was also named Pistos Tigeris for most outstanding IFC senior of the year. Tyler Ricossa '11 was named Chapter Advisor of the Year for all Registered Student Organizations. We are grateful for the respective awards and strive to build on the momentum of last year's executive board. ACADEMICS We were able to boost our GPA from a 3.30 in the fall to a 3.34 in the spring. These academic successes help us build a more respected and award- winning Chapter. We are proud of the 27 brothers who earned a place on the dean's list, and the 10 brothers who achieved a perfect 4.0. We are now ranked first in grades for all-IFC and fifth among all-Greek chapters. PHILANTHROPY We partnered with Back the Blue 901 to boost the morale of officers. Former Consul Seth Khokhar '25 and former Philanthropy Chairman TJ Rogers '26 led the Chapter to raise more than $5,000 worth of water and gum for every Memphis Police officer in the city. After months of planning Derby Days 2024, led by James Strickland '24 and the Derby Days committee, we have raised over $53,000 for Special Olympics of Greater Memphis. This brings our total to over $140,000 in the past three years! This is an incredible accomplishment of which we can all be proud. Thank you to our many generous donors and corporate sponsors. This truly could not have been completed without your help. Also, thank you to everyone who played an integral role throughout the planning process. More to come this year, and planning has already begun. CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT We are invested in the advancement of the University of Memphis and the city. That is why we have brothers serving in all areas across campus, from Seth Khokhar '25 serving as Senator at Large for the Student Government Association to Micheal "Big" Latimer '27 serving as a Frosh Camp counselor and Jonas Kannady '26 serving as IFC recruitment chairman. We have 84% of brothers involved with an organization on campus and 13% in leadership roles within these organizations. We are proud of our active involvement on campus. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT We strive to build and mold leaders at Epsilon Kappa. That is why we secured a total of 1,192 hours of community service as well as sent three of our executive board members to the Krach Transformational Leadership Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio, to learn about leadership development. The committee members are looking forward to implementing these skills into Epsilon Kappa. Additionally, we were honored to send two brothers to Horizons Leadership Retreat in Utah. This week-long leadership retreat creates leaders for the future. In Hoc, Ean Lindsey '27, Consul Giving Back and Earning Recognition Sigma Chi New brothers win Phi Mu's dance competition fundraiser. Brothers meet Memphis men's basketball head coach Penny Hardaway. Bid Day fall 2023.
