To ensure our stability at the University of Nebraska, we must prioritize paying down our $1.5 million mortgage from Union Bank & Trust. As the current mortgage stands, the chapter owes a monthly payment of $12,618 through June 2028 with an interest rate of 7.55%. There is also a balloon payment of $1,359,832 due in July 2028. By reducing this debt, we aim to secure a reasonable mortgage renewal rate and strengthen our financial foundation as a chapter. PRESERVING OUR HOME Preserving the house is essential for the long- term sustainability of Gamma Theta Chapter, as the current structure's water leakage, due to deteriorating mortar joints, poses a significant risk to its integrity. To effectively address these issues, we need to undertake several key updates. Specifically, we must tuckpoint the house's limestone to protect it from further water damage and replace the windows in the sunroom, living room, living quarters, old addition, and 1970 addition rooms. These repairs are critical to preventing additional damage and ensuring the continued functionality and safety of our home. STAYING COMPETITIVE Many Greek organizations on campus have recently undertaken significant renovations of their chapter facilities. These upgrades not only enhance the physical environment but also reflect the evolving needs and expectations of their members. To ensure our chapter remains competitive with both other Greek houses and alternative housing options available on and off campus, it is essential for us to keep pace with these changes. By continually evolving and modernizing our facilities, we can provide an exceptional living experience for our brothers, fostering a fun and supportive community that attracts new members and retains current ones. Investing in our chapter house is not just about maintaining standards but also about creating an environment where our members can thrive and build lasting connections.
