PAGE 4 A HOME TO SET INDIANA ZETA APART PROJECT GOALS P lans for Indiana Zeta's new home at 704 Union Street have been carefully curated to support the chapter, its mission and growth, and the brothers who live there. The house should foster community and provide a sense of safety and belonging to residents and guests. • Promote Community Engagement: Create open and inviting common spaces to encourage interaction among members. • Foster the Educational Experience: Design flexible, durable spaces to accommodate a variety of activities including study spaces, chapter meetings, and social events. • Prioritize Safety and Security: Enhance entryway to provide a welcoming and secure environment for residents and visitors. • Reflect the Character and Identity of SigEp: Incorporate elements that represent the character and history of the fraternity. • Build Parent and Alumni Confidence: Incorporate features that resonate with alumni and remind them of their experiences. Instill confidence in parents about the safety and quality of the living environment. • Design for Campus Integration: Fit in with the campus of Valparaiso University while standing out in a positive way. • Practice Sustainable Design: Explore environmentally responsible building practices. Project Goals PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS • Oversized parking lot: Designed to generate revenue through rental parking spaces. • Back patio: Situated to provide more private outdoor space and many opportunities for the chapter. The space can be divided into multiple seating groups or be used as a community event space. With direct access from the main entry foyer and the multipurpose room, this space can serve the chapter as additional common space. EXTERIOR
