Lyre Letter Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Purdue University SUMMER 2024 Welcome home, alumnae! The Home Corporation Board is excited to announce that we are completing the last phase of our Centennial Celebration—the patio hearth project! As an added personal touch, we would like to offer engraved donor bricks. Please help us complete this beautiful addition to our chapter house patio by sponsoring an engraved brick that can honor a special sister, celebrate a graduation, or ensure your name is part of the Alpha Beta legacy. Our goal is to dedicate the hearth during Homecoming 2024 weekend. Show your support of Alpha Chi Omega and our patio hearth project by purchasing an engraved brick by Tuesday, August 20. Each 8-by-4-inch brick costs $250 and can include up to two lines of text. You may order a brick by mail or online. (See the back page for an order form!) Your generous gift will help us complete the final phase of our Centennial Celebration with an outdoor gathering space for all Alpha Betas to enjoy. If purchasing by mail, please complete the form on page 4 and return in the envelope included in this mailing. If purchasing online, please visit axoalphabeta.causevox.com. Thank you so much for the support, loyalty and love our sisters in the bond continue to show Alpha Chi Omega! Remember to "Come home to the hearth this fall, alumnae." Loyally, Alpha Beta Home Corporation Board A lpha Beta Chapter had a very busy spring and hosted various events that proved to be a success. Vice President of Philanthropy Ashleigh Schetter '22 began with the extremely successful Alpha CHIcken and Waffles in February. So far, her efforts have not yet faltered, as Ashleigh has led the way in raising over $5,000 for the YWCA in the spring semester alone. Each member also worked extremely hard to make Alpha CHIcken and Waffles a memorable event, with comments from students indicating their enjoyment from eating good food in such a high- energy environment. Overall, Alpha Beta Chapter has come together to put a much larger focus on philanthropy, so we are grateful to have kicked off the semester with such an engaging event. Another event that kept the chapter busy was our annual Glee Club serenade, organized and executed by Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Alexa Potaczek '22, in which the Purdue Glee Club enjoyed dinner with our sisters at the chapter house before performing one of the best serenades to date. Being a musical fraternity, the importance of hosting this specific event also had a great impact on the chapter, as it was a very special way to commemorate MacDowell Month. We were grateful to be able to continue the tradition, especially during one of the most important months to recognize our musical heritage. To finish out the semester, ladies dressed in their best at the Carnation Ball Formal, formally known as the Golden Lyre Ball. This event was hosted at Bennett's Greenhouse, a beautiful outdoor venue that made for a wonderful formal experience and was a great way to bring our sisters together right before finals. Vice President of Membership Programming Molly Greer '22 did a wonderful job ensuring each member had a wonderful time. Our chapter is very proud of not only the executive members who made these events possible but also the members for showing such a strong sense of support for our philanthropy, our heritage and our wonderful sisterhood!
