Page 2 T his year has been an incredible journey for Delta Upsilon marked by notable achievements, impactful philanthropy, and memorable brotherhood events. Our dedication to community service, sportsmanship, and fostering strong brotherhood bonds has been truly inspiring. THON SUCCESS One of our most significant accomplishments was our participation in THON 2024. DU raised an impressive $133,778 (finishing Top 5), demonstrating our commitment to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer. We were honored to win the Best Letters award, a testament to our creativity and spirit. Thirteen of our brothers stood for the full 46 hours, showcasing their dedication and resilience. Notable participants included Nicholas Sherwood, Dustin Zeller '25, Charlie Nino '25, and Thomas Miro '25, among many others. THON was an amazing experience for everyone involved. In addition to our fundraising efforts, we organized a surprise birthday celebration for one of our THON kids, Kaylahni Laboy, at a local bowling alley on March 24. This event brought immense joy to Kaylahni and reinforced the strong bond we share with our THON families. We also hosted a whiffle ball and cornhole tournament with our THON partner, Delta Gamma. Brothers could purchase hot dogs, burgers, and water, with all proceeds going to THON. BROTHERHOOD ACHIEVEMENTS Our Chapter also excelled in sports, winning first place in the softball tournament in the spring with an undefeated record of 3-0. This victory was a proud moment for our team and highlighted our competitive spirit and teamwork. Additionally, we organized a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, which fostered friendly competition and camaraderie among our members. The spring semester was filled with various brotherhood events, culminating in our formal on April 26. The Hollywood-themed event was a spectacular evening, with a significant turnout from our brothers. We also hosted Parents Weekend on April 20, providing a wonderful opportunity for our parents to tour our house and experience the DU brotherhood firsthand. Our philanthropy efforts continued with the Dogs and Deltas event, where we enjoyed the beautiful spring weather with some furry friends on our backyard turf. This event was not only fun but also strengthened our sense of community. Spring break also held exciting moments for DU. Many brothers went across the world to experience the cultures and practices of different countries. WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS AND CELEBRATING SENIORS This spring, we welcomed a new class eager to contribute to our Chapter's success. We are excited to see the roles they will take on and the impact they will have on our fraternity. We ended the year with our Senior Sendoff, a heartfelt celebration of the memories shared with our graduating seniors. We wish them luck and success as they embark on their next journeys. In summary, the 2023-24 academic year was an extraordinary period for Delta Upsilon at Penn State. Our achievements in philanthropy, sports, and brotherhood events have solidified our standing as a strong and vibrant community. We look forward to continuing this legacy of excellence in the years to come. Fraternally, Duncan Nam '25 President Everyone had a great time at formal. Members gather for our senior sendoff.
