FUNDRAISING FOR OTHERS We hosted our annual Hoops for Hope this spring, where we raised over $32,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease. The event is a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament that included a hot dog eating competition, raffle tickets for gift baskets, and a thrifting pop-up event called Greek Street Vintage, which donates 5% of its sales to Kappa's philanthropy. GAMMA ZETA CHAPTER COLLECTIVELY RAISED OVER $48,000 IN THE 2023-24 YEAR! COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Another way Gamma Zeta Chapter has given back this year is by working with local Tucson companies like Espressoul, a women-owned coffee company, and Greek Street Vintage. Once a month, we work with a local entrepreneur. We have loved getting to know and work so closely with the Tucson community. MAKING CAMPUS STRONGER With our primary philanthropy focus being mental health, we wanted to make a lasting impact on U of A students and help them with mental health strategies. We held our first-ever All-Greek Seminar right before finals week at the Student Union. Our university guest speaker, Elsa Loya, spoke about the 'Power of Perspective.' During the Greek Awards on February 4, our chapter received the Outstanding Academic Success Program and the Outstanding Philanthropic Contributions awards. Additionally, Emma Peters '23 received Outstanding Volunteer, and Grace Fajardo '22, received Outstanding Leadership. KEEPING GRADES A PRIORITY Alongside our other achievements, after being within the top three for the past few years, we were honored as the sorority chapter and new member group with the highest overall GPAs for fall 2023. We celebrated in January with an Insomnia cookie party. THANK YOU, ALUMNAE! As we continue to support and uplift each other, we look forward to all the 2024-25 school year has to offer. The generous contributions of alumnae, whether through mentorship, donations, or simply sharing your invaluable experiences, have played a pivotal role in shaping the experiences of our youngest members. We would like to extend an open invitation to all alumnae to drop by the house whenever you find yourself in the area. We would be honored to welcome you back, reminisce about cherished memories, and create new ones together. Your presence is not only a testament to the enduring bonds of sisterhood but also a source of inspiration for our current members. Loyally, Sasha Sanderson '21 Chapter President Our Kappa families got a little bit bigger this year as we welcomed the 2023 pledge class! New members are eager to watch the 3 vs. 3 basketball games at our annual philanthropy event, Hoops for Hope. MAKING AN IMPACT Philanthropy, Community Service, and Education Continue sisterhood events for all 400+ members to be a part of. Create a Big/Little process where the whole chapter gets involved (inviting juniors to help with the process). Provide current coordinators with training for a smooth transition if they have an interest in the position for the next term. Hold more alumnae events to provide a deep connection. This could be house brunches, a brainstorming session of events or traditions to instill, career mentors, and more! 1. 3. 4. 2. 2024 GOALS
