In the wake of the madness that was COVID-19 and after a period of weak enrollment, Indiana Zeta remains strong! The Chapter House will be completely full this coming fall, and the size of the Chapter makes it among the largest on campus. The Chapter GPA is above the all-men's average and, as you'll see in the president's report, the men are very involved on campus and in philanthropy efforts. In recent news, we hosted the annual Lund Awards Banquet in April, thanks to the enduring generosity of Albert Lund '48. This year, three undergraduate Indiana Zeta members were recognized for their scholarship and their involvement on campus and in their community. Alex Backhaus '25 of Zionsville, James McMurray '26 of Evansville, and Calvin Thompson '26 of Noblesville will each receive $5,000 scholarships for the 2024- 25 academic year. The Albert Lund Awards are the largest Greek-based scholarship awards on the DePauw campus. Since their inception, 46 DePauw Phis have received Lund scholarships, totaling $392,000. Albert established the scholarship fund in 1999 to reward members of his Fraternity for their dedication to academics and their involvement in campus and community activities. His son, Larry '77, returned to campus to announce the scholarship recipients at a scholarship dinner at The Inn at DePauw. He was joined by his sister, Lindsey Lund Peterik, and other alumni supporters. "My father was a Rector Scholar at DePauw, and without that money (he) could not have attended this University," Larry said. "DePauw and Phi Delta Theta are two of his greatest loves, and his gifts ensure that both remain strong. My dad got tremendous satisfaction in Phi Delt Pride HOUSE CORPORATION BOARD UPDATE helping these young men achieve their goals, and he especially enjoyed the letters and emails he exchanged with the Lund scholars and learning how their lives developed." Brothers, I hope you too are proud to be a Phi! Yours in the Bond, Chris Johnston '83 Indiana Zeta House Corporation cl.johnston83@gmail.com
