3 SPRING EVENTS Eta Chapter had a lot of fun in the spring! We had four outstanding Swaps with Chi Omega, Alpha Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Tri Delta. Other Sigma Chi events included the Groundhog Day Ball at the chapter house, Parents' Weekend at Circle and Square, date parties, and our New Orleans formal. ONE MORE NEW MEMBER Following an enormous fall recruitment, Eta gained one brother this spring. John Wes '25 is from Oxford, Mississippi, and attended the University of Georgia for two years before transferring to Ole Miss this semester. John was initiated into the Delta Chapter at UGA. DERBY DAYS AND REMEMBERING WALKER Our chapter participated in the Charity Bowl against Sigma Nu to support the Thomas Mayo Lab, which researches treatment for young people's substance abuse and mental health issues. Our chapter also raised awareness for the Mayo Lab, Michael Aulds Scholarship, Huntsman Cancer Research Center, and Walker Fielder Memorial scholarship through Derby Days, which brothers celebrated by selling roses in front of the Student Union, getting pied, and hosting our powderpuff and banner contest. Sigma Chi and Phi Delta Theta held a joint party at our chapter house in honor of Eta's late brother Walker Fielder (PC '20). All proceeds from Derby Days week and Walker Fielder T-Shirt sales went to his new scholarship (the first of which was awarded in the fall) and the research centers to help better our campus and our university. STAYING READY As we prepare for another fall recruitment, we have met with potential new members and are preparing for an even busier summer. If you have any questions about formal recruitment, please reach out to Coy Stiles '26 at coystiles3@gmail.com. Thank you, as always, for your steadfast support as alumni!
