nearly 30 alumni in attendance. Of course, we
must thank Chapter Advisor Richard Krisch,
Pittsburg State '73 for his role in organizing
the undergraduates for a flawless ceremony and
Sigma Chi's Grand Consul Bob Wilson, Fort
Hayes '81 for giving the initiates their Charge
and badges.
Initiation was followed by a reception at
the chapter house. Though a home-cooked
barbecue meal was the planned menu, extensive
rainfall shifted us within the house. Alumni
mingled and connected with the strong
undergraduate presence over slices of pizza.
Finally, the weekend concluded with a grand banquet in the ballroom of the Gettysburg Hotel with
50 or so brothers, some with their spouses or girlfriends. Notably, the celebration was attended by
Grand Consul Bob Wilson, Order of Constantine Sigs Richard Krisch and Nathan Neal, George
Washington '83, Grand Trustee Frank Araby, George Washington '84, and keynote speaker Alan
Fuerstman '78 (CEO of Montage Hotels and Resorts), with Bruce Casner, George Washington '71
as our master of ceremonies. Brother Fuerstman gave an appreciated and insightful speech about his
career in the hotel industry since graduating from Gettysburg. Speeches were also given by Brother
Wilson and by chapter Consul Quinn Klaimann '25 about the state of Theta in 2024.
All in all, the weekend was a testament to the enduring bonds of Sigma Chi and Theta Chapter. On
behalf of HCB, I dearly thank everyone who attended. When a little older and a little wiser, I too look
forward to seeing each of you again for our 165th anniversary just a quick five years down the road.
