Catching Up with Chi Omega Update from the Undergraduates Mu Chapter has been busy this semester! Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to. Scholarship There's no question that UC Berkeley is an academically rigorous school, but Mu sisters have been excelling! Every member of our chapter is engaged in several activities outside of this house, and many are leaders in the campus community. We have 11 Executive Board members, 20 Cardinal Cabinet members, and one serving on the Panhellenic Executive board (Layla Nasseri '21 as VP of Risk). Sisterhood and Membership At 160 members, we have nine studying abroad in the Netherlands, Italy, France, England, Spain, and Scotland. Our Recruitment Chair, Ciara Tang '22, did an amazing job leading our spring Continuous Open Bidding process, and we welcomed nine new members. On an exciting note, we were awarded Most Improved Recruitment in the West and Plains region at the Firesides Convention in February! We were also voted Best Bid Day Banner in our region, so shoutout to Leoni Day '22 for her amazing fall 2023 design. Sophia Goedderz '22, our New Member Educator, has been tirelessly working to help integrate new members and teach them about life in Chi Omega. They were initiated in March. Giving Back Philanthropy continues to be one of our main focuses. This spring, we had our Kick It with Chi Omega kickball tournament organized by Philanthropy Chair Taylor Lang '22. Despite the pouring rain, we raised $1,100 to benefit Make-A-Wish! We also hosted a flower fundraiser led by our DEI Chair, Julia Lopez '22, to benefit families affected by wildfires in Mexico and a brownie sale led by our external Philanthropy Chair, Ari Harkavy '22, which benefited UCSF. Alumnae Events Our Vice President, Sofia Boselli '22, has been planning a phenomenal Alumnae Speaker Series, which involves welcoming Chi Omega alumnae to the house to speak about their professions. Some of the panels we've had so far focused on the fields of technology, law, and medicine. This semester has been amazing, and we look forward to seeing what the fall has in store for Mu Chapter. Thank you for your continued support! Loyally, Megan Wang '22 President calchiomegapresident@gmail.com
