When she visited Chi Omega, however, she knew she had found something far more meaningful. "I felt welcomed, accepted, and celebrated for being my unique and nerdy self, and that made me want to stay for the rest of my college life." While Tres never held a formal leadership position in the chapter, she was frequently involved in decorating for chapter house parties and designing t-shirts for sisterhood events. That creative energy continued into her choice of career. After earning a bachelor's degree in fine art with a minor in costume design, Tres spent her first few decades in the workforce leading product development teams in the clothing and home décor industries. "I traveled all over the world developing new designs," she shared. "I had to get pages added to my passport because I had so many visas for European, Asian, and African countries." About 10 years ago, Tres made a career shift and became an executive coach and leadership development facilitator. "My passion is now developing people instead of products!" As the years have passed, Tres' relationships with her sorority sisters have remained strong. "Three of my best friends are from my Chi O years, and I love them as I love my biological sisters" she shared. "We had so much fun living, eating, and watching soap operas at lunchtime together." Tres has been married to her husband, Jack, for 20 years; they live in a converted loft they call their "warehome" in Oakland, California. Tres has one daughter from her first marriage, Olive, who is a graphic designer and DJ living in Austin, Texas. "I truly believe the strong bond between sisters is a special magical fuel that is needed in the world today," Tres concluded. We couldn't agree more!
