The public is welcome. Staff from the AG's offi ce will be taking comments from community members on how groundwater affects themselves and their community. Attorney General Kris Mayes is- sued the following statement on SB1221 being heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee which was held February 13th. "Since taking offi ce, I have pri- oritized protecting Arizona's water supplies. Whether working to stop corporations from improperly de- pleting our groundwater or holding polluters accountable, my offi ce is fi ghting for the wellbeing of 7.5 mil- lion residents and the generational sustainability of our communities and economy. SB 1221, Basin Management Ar- eas, establishes a bureaucratic web of undefi ned processes that pose an untenable challenge to the de- velopment of fair and impactful water policy. This bill would also threaten to disenfranchise multiple stakeholders across Arizona – from residents to municipalities to busi- nesses. Online Pre-Registration is now open and will close at midnight June 2, 2024. The 46th Annual Parker Tube Float registration will be at La Paz County Park from 8 A.M to 12 P.M with the fl oat ending at 5 P.M. (NO-WAKE ZONE EXPIRES). Park at La Paz County Park ($10.00 parking fee) and we will shuttle you to Buck- skin Mountain State Park where the starting line is. The last bus will leave La Paz County Park shortly af- ter registration closes at 12 P.M. Buckskin Mountain State Park will have air compressors available to infl ate your fl oats and get ready to launch. Ice will also be available for purchase at both La Paz County Park and Buckskin Mountain State Park. Once you are ready you will enter the beautiful Colorado River you can enjoy beautiful scenery and will pass a few bars and restaurants as you fl oat down to the fi nish line at La Paz County Park/Pirate's Den Resort lo- cated where you originally parked. We strongly suggest you pre-regis- ter as it is $30.00 per person. Once pre-registration closes the fee is $40.00 per person if you register the morning of the event.
