Arrow Talk PAGE 6 Oklahoma Beta Remains Committed to Sisterhood, Philanthropy and Involvement A Stellar Start to Spring College Weekend On January 19-21, the Pi Phi Executive Council attended College Weekend in St. Louis, Missouri. It was a transformative weekend as they learned more about their leadership roles and were able to bond as a team. "Attending College Weekend allowed me to not only build deeper relationships with the Oklahoma Beta Executive Council but also allowed me to connect with Pi Phis across the nation," said Kenna Lake '22, Vice President Community Relations. "College Weekend is a memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life!" Philanthropy Oklahoma Beta is planning our first philanthropy of the semester, Pie a Pi Phi. Funds will go toward the Pi Beta Phi Literacy Fund, which supports Read > Lead > Achieve ® . This initiative will help create a more literate society through the power of reading. Our goal for this semester is to raise $5,000 for Read > Lead > Achieve. Recruitment Since 2023 OSU Panhellenic has encouraged all sororities to participate in Continuous Open Bidding (COB). Through this spring recruitment we have welcomed 10 amazing New Members who will be initiated in April. "This recruitment process has been going so well so far," said Director Member Selection Emily Tretheway '22. "Getting to recruit alongside Hallie and the rest of the chapter has been such a privilege, and I'm excited to see what's to come!" Campus Involvement Pi Phi continues to maintain a strong presence on campus. • Carrington Coker '21 and Serena Gray '21 served on the Homecoming Executive Committee, and several members served on Homecoming Steering Committees. • Serena recently competed in the Miss OSU pageant as well. • Leah Brainerd '20 and Huntyr Terry '20 were selected as Seniors of Significance, meaning they are among the top 50 students of their class. • Charley Van Newkirk '22 proudly represents our chapter as an anchor and co-producer with the O'Colly. • You can watch many members on the sidelines cheering on the Cowboys and Cowgirls—or even on the track itself! • Brooklyn Hawkins '23 was recently recognized at a Cowboys basketball game for surviving cancer. She also founded an organization called "In the Middle of a Miracle." We are so proud of all our members and their hard work!
