he joint annual meeting of the
Property Association and Alumni
Chapter, required by our bylaws, was
held by telephone conference and Zoom
on October 15. Agenda topics included
officer and director elections (see the
listing on page 1 of this newsletter),
financial status, plans for the year,
and a brief report by Brother Nelson.
A meeting report was prepared and
distributed. A copy of the meeting
report will be provided upon request.

he south portion of the wall along the west patio has
significantly degraded because of weathering. e bid cost
to replace this wall is approximately $10,000. e Association's
Board of Directors has decided to defer this project until a time
closer to the return of the collegiate chapter in 2028.
The Association maintains a Capital Improvement Plan/
Projection through 2028. There are no capital improvements planned for the 2023-24 fiscal
year. Our budget includes a contingency of $5,000 for emergent needs. A copy of the plan
will be provided upon request.
Alumni News
Brother Edwin R. Sidwell, ΔΔ879, passed to The Chapter Eternal on January 16,
2024, at the Hollidaysburg, Pa., Veterans' Home. His obituary was posted on our
group Facebook page.

2024. A block of rooms will be
reserved at the Hyatt on West Beaver.
Events: (1) welcome reception on Friday
from 4-6 p.m. at e Federal Taphouse
(same building as Hyatt, appetizers
included); (2) campus tour(s) on
Saturday aernoon with transportation
provided (possible: Old Main, All Sports
Museum, new Palmer Museum of Art
(opens spring 2024), Arboretum); and
Saturday dinner at a local restaurant
(separate checks).
Registration will be online with a fee
of $75/person. If you're interested,

at nelsonnittany@aol.com. Otherwise,
watch for an email announcement for
registration instructions.

he football team's end-of-spring practice scrimmage will be
held on April 13. Kick-off time is TBD. All parking is open
on a first-come, first-served basis. As in previous years, Brother
Nelson plans to tailgate in the grass lot under the north end zone
jumbotron (Lot 17). Let him know if you want to visit and he'll text
you his specific location on game day.
