Catherine Ann Herrington Davis '05, known as "Cat" to her advisors and sisters, found her home away from home at Kappa Delta. The women were confident and caring, and from day one they loved, encouraged, and supported her. Cat feels blessed to be a KΔ and would not be who she is today if not for the sisterhood. CHERISHING KΔ MEMORIES As Catherine Ann looks back on her undergraduate experience, the little moments stand out the most. She has fond memories of daily lunches at the Chapter House, walking across campus with her sisters, receiving an encouraging word from an upperclassman, watching Days of Our Lives on the green couches, roll call at Chapter meetings, and the sound of her sisters talking and laughing as she descended the stairs to the dining room. It is also special to Cat to be a part of a family of Kappa Deltas. She will always remember her grandmother, Mary Ann Bostwick Herrington '55, pinning her for initiation. The day Catherine Ann's sister, Elizabeth Herrington '09, pledged KΔ was a happy day, and Cat loved sharing the Kappa Delta experience with her. Cat and Elizabeth generously supported the capital campaign for the new Alpha Mu house. USING ART FOR GOOD Catherine Ann knew at an early age that she wanted to be an artist. As an art major, she recalls spending many late nights at the KΔ house working on projects for her classes. "Today my artwork is infused with bold graphics, southern nostalgia, humor, and rich color palettes inspired by the people and traditions that have shaped my life while growing up in the South," she shared. Cat is the owner of Hi Yall! Made in the South, located in Starkville, Mississippi. Kappa Delta taught her the importance of giving back and helping others, and she has loved using her artwork to give back to her community and state. "My artwork has raised money for Mississippi communities devastated by tornadoes, helped organizations during COVID-19, supplied clothing and toys for children in foster care, and networked with philanthropic organizations throughout the state," Cat said. Throughout her career, Catherine Ann has been the featured artist for both the Mississippi New York Picnic in the Park and the Mississippi Governor's First Lady's Tea and was the Blue Moon Art Award winner. She has loved traveling for art shows and connecting with her Alpha Mu sisters along the way, and each year, she looks forward to participating in Double Decker and being back on the Oxford Square. Cat is also honored to have an original painting hanging in the new KΔ house.Catherine Ann and her sister Elizabeth generously supported the capital campaign for the new Alpha Mu house. EMBRACING FAMILY AND SISTERHOOD Catherine Ann resides in Starkville with her husband, Parker, and son, John Parker. "They both fight over my old KΔ blanket on movie nights." She loves spending time with her family, being a baseball mom, and spending summers at the lake. Cat also enjoys going on annual trips with her KΔ sisters, who she knows will always be there for her.
