Lyre Letter Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Purdue University FALL 2023 A lpha Beta Alumnae were welcomed back to our beautiful Alpha Chi Omega home this fall for Homecoming and a special Founder's Day Brunch. Although Purdue's Homecoming was scheduled a little earlier this year than in previous years, many Alpha Chi sisters were still able to reconnect and attend the game. Thank you to the alumnae who stopped by Alpha Chi Omega throughout Homecoming weekend and volunteered to donate for the House Corporation Board's next project! We used Homecoming and Founder's Day as "sneak peek" opportunities. The House Corporation Board is excited to announce that we are beginning the last phase of our Centennial Celebration, the patio project! Please stay tuned for an additional mailing with more details. On October 15, 2023, several House Corporation Board members, as well as Alpha Beta Alumnae, attended a Founder's Day Brunch at the Alpha Chi Omega House. We enjoyed visiting with the collegians, A lpha Chi Omega was founded on October 15, 1885, a beautiful fall day when the founders gathered in Greencastle, Indiana, to create a fraternity based on shared values. This Founder's Day, Alpha Beta Chapter hosted a Sunday brunch to celebrate our founding and spend time with sisters and alumnae. Sisters enjoyed house tours and conversations in our beautiful home. Alumnae in attendance shared some of their favorite things about being an Alpha Chi Omega, memories from their time as collegiate members and that this sisterhood isn't just a collegiate commitment but a lifetime commitment—something you can never fully imagine and realize when you first join. Our youngest sisters were educated about not only our founders but also local alumnae who have made an impact on our chapter house and sisterhood at Purdue. The chapter hopes to host more in-person events in the future, but the house is always open to alumnae for visits and tours. Sunday brunch is always special at Alpha Beta, but there was even more to celebrate and appreciate this year. We hope you'll join us in the future! reminiscing about the original Alpha Beta Chapter House on University Street, educating our collegians about our former Alpha Beta members, and reviewing the histories of our Founding Members. Thank you to our Alpha Chi sisters for hosting your alumnae sisters! It's always a pleasure to spend time together. The House Corporation Board would like to invite each and every one of you to stop by Alpha Chi Omega for a visit when you are on campus. Enjoy reminiscing about your time in the sorority house, introduce yourselves to the women currently living in the house, and get a "sneak peek" of the patio project rendering as you venture to the balcony for a picture with the Alpha Chi lyre. Your support and dedication to Alpha Beta is why our chapter continues to thrive. Loyally in the Bond, Kelly Taulman Allen '89 Alpha Beta Alumnae! Alpha Beta Alumnae!
