W ith the success of The Next Hundred Years of Building Men campaign, we want to take our chapter to the next level. We are eternally grateful for the 560 men who donated to the last campaign, helping us raise $4.46 million in support of our new home. Thanks to their generosity, the house was completed in 2017 and the brothers are thriving at 3601 Apple Street. As we look ahead, now is the time to evaluate what's next for Nebraska FarmHouse. In summer 2023, the Association Board hosted a student and alumni focus group to hear directly from brothers about the needs for the future. Three challenges were identified: recruitment advantages, professional development, and ongoing house maintenance and support. RECRUITMENT ADVANTAGES Our chapter faces continual pressure from other top houses such as Alpha Gamma Rho and Beta Theta Pi for the best recruits at UNL. What sets these chapters apart is their offers of scholarships to incoming and current members. Currently, FarmHouse only grants one scholarship per year, the lowest on campus. We want to be able to offer the same opportunities as others to our FarmHouse brothers. In addition, a major selling point to join the house is the amount of land that FarmHouse has, including the basketball court and parking lot. Taking advantage of this luxury by creating outdoor seating and space for brothers to be together would be an added benefit to our brotherhood. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT While FarmHouse National Fraternity offers the Leadership Institute for chapter officers, there is a need for more development opportunities, specifically for new and general members. Enhancing our alumni/student mentorship program and creating additional opportunities would enhance the student experience and build an even greater brotherhood among FarmHouse. ONGOING MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT We now have a top-caliber facility, but just like our homes, there is continual maintenance and improvements to be made. Currently, there is a need to improve security features, as members have expressed concerns about their cars being broken into and property being stolen from the parking lot.
