Our Chapter received a record 202 applicants for the Balanced Man Scholarship, and reviewing so many was a difficult yet rewarding process. We also held our semesterly brotherhood retreat in Litchfield on September 29-30, 2023 and hosted six graduates for our Alumni Round Table; we greatly appreciate these SigEps lending their time to the Chapter. On the philanthropy side, our Campout event raised $1,156 for Partners for Peace and Domestic Violence Prevention. We also hosted the Rock Against Rape Concert, featuring the bands Midnight Breakfast and Gnocchi. AWARDS In August, 22 brothers represented Maine Alpha at SigEp's 58th Grand Chapter Conclave in San Antonio, Texas. Our Chapter came home with its eighth-consecutive Buchanan Cup (and fourth Gold Cup) as well as the Man-Mile Award—with lots of engagement and networking along the way! The brothers attended several educational track sessions in addition to lovely dinners and ceremonies; we also enjoyed optional training sessions in "The Hub." Later in the fall, Jackson Varley '25 and Shashank Reddie '25 attended the Ruck Leadership Institute, bringing invaluable lessons back to our Chapter as we grow as Balanced Men. SAVE THE DATE We hope you're as excited as us for the Spring Awards Banquet next year! Join us at the Wells Conference Center on April 6; the ceremony is from 6-8 p.m. with an optional cocktail hour beforehand. I'd like to thank all the alumni who've supported our members in their SigEp journey—whether volunteering their time and finances or simply showing up to events. You are always welcome to visit and chat if you find yourself on campus! Thank You, Founders Day Donors W e extend our gratitude to the following 61 brothers, who raised a combined $6,224 on this year's Founders Day of Giving. Nationally, this puts Maine Alpha in 18th place in SigEp donors per chapter. Thank you for making a difference! LEADING WITH DILIGENCE Reflecting on a Strong Fall at UMaine
