T erry Shadwick '90 was introduced to Pi Kappa Alpha by a hometown friend from Independence, Iowa, who was a member of Alpha Phi Chapter. He participated in the bed race as a senior in high school, and that year, PIKE won Greek Week. "I was hooked." One of Terry's first and favorite PIKE memories was riding around on the fire truck with a sorority, singing PIKE songs. He served in several leadership positions, including as president, which gave him opportunities to grow. His first experiences in human and financial management were at the PIKE house, and the members of the House Corporation and Chapter advisors were good role models and mentors in his early career. Terry has had many career highlights. "A few of the accomplishments I'm most proud of are making the Inc. 5000 list multiple times, being an EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, and having our employees recognize BluSky as a top workplace in Colorado multiple times." The company Terry founded recently changed hands at over a $1 billion valuation. Terry is grateful for the friendships he made through Alpha Phi and enjoys getting together with his brothers. One of his favorite moments as an alumnus was attending a PIKE reunion in Kansas City for the Iowa State vs. Kansas State football game at Arrowhead Stadium. With so much appreciation for Alpha Phi, Terry is proud to support the 2112: The House That Built Us campaign. "I wanted to give back to the fraternity to allow other young men to have the same experience and opportunities I had while at Iowa State." Terry has been married for over 20 years and has a son who is a junior at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and a daughter who is a junior at the University of Tennessee. His family loves visiting their daughter and attending tailgates at the PIKE house there. They recently bought property and built a home in Scotch Grove, Iowa, and enjoy getting back there often to visit family and friends. In his free time, Terry enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, doing Jiu Jitsu, and exercising. You can connect with him at tshadwick@ barnlightcap.com.
