A
s you read on page 1, Alpha Phi is
officially back at Iowa State! While this is
certainly cause for celebration, we must focus
as alumni on what we can do to ensure a stable
future for PIKE on campus.
Our 2112: The House That Built Us campaign is
just more than halfway to our $2 million goal.
• If you've been thinking of contributing,
NOW IS THE TIME!
• If you can afford to pay off a pledge early,
WE URGE YOU TO DO SO!
Your support is crucial to help us move
beyond the design phase with architects
and begin construction. We are confident in
the support of our alumni network, but we
must act with combined urgency to ensure a
successful campaign.
BUILDING PROJECT
Our campaign's goal is to improve 2112 Lincoln
Way beyond the standards of fraternity housing
by gutting floors 2-4. By renovating these floors,
we aim to provide the 23 live-in members with a
diverse choice of modernized living rooms and
group study spaces.
Our house received historic designation from
the State of Iowa Historic Preservation Office,
so we hope to upgrade our historic first floor
in a suitable manner. Our kitchen also needs
modern upgrades, and the basement will be
updated to include a four-man, suite-style
apartment for upperclassmen as well as a suite
for the house director.
On the exterior, the Chapter House needs
a new roof, windows, parking lot, and
stormwater system. Repairs are also in order
for the masonry and fascia. To top things off, a
new monument sign and front yard gathering
area will add to the outdoor house aesthetics.
As you reflect on the Chapter's official
rechartering, consider what you can do to pay
it forward for tomorrow's membership.
