PAGE 2 Keeping SAE at Auburn Michael Schilleci '93 Shares Favorite Memories and Why He Supports the Campaign G rowing up, Michael Schilleci '93 had an older sister who was a Sigma Alpha Epsilon little sister, and recruitment events were often held at his parents' house. Since he had been around SAE for years and gotten to know many brothers, when he went through recruitment he already felt connected at Alabama Alpha Mu Chapter. "Then I started seeing the pledge class that was coming together and just wanted to be a part of it." Michael remembers that Alabama Alpha Mu was made up of a great group of men, and he was glad he was associated with them. One of his favorite memories was when the Alabama vs. Auburn game was played at Auburn for the first time. He recalls how exciting it was and how much work he and the brothers put in around the chapter house to prepare to welcome alumni and friends. His best memories throughout his undergraduate experience, however, come from time spent hanging out at the house with his brothers. Michael is grateful for the network of friends he developed in SAE, both with his brothers and people he met through them and the fraternity. He still gets together with a group of his brothers every year. He's become even more connected to Alabama Alpha Mu Chapter, as his son is currently a junior in the fraternity. Having this legacy is a big deal to Michael and is one of the reasons why he supports Founded in Tradition, Restoring the Legacy: e Campaign for Alabama Alpha Mu at a leadership donor level. e other reason? "If we don't get involved, if we don't make the house a destination for potential students, the fraternity will eventually fizzle away. I certainly don't want that to happen at all. I know what it meant to me." Michael also serves as a campaign board member and looks forward to seeing the project be successful. He has a wife and three children. His wife and oldest daughter were Alabama graduates, and his youngest daughter is a senior in high school and heading to Alabama next year. With his son at Auburn, "We're a family divided down the rivalry lines." You can connect with Michael at mschilleci@gmail.com. Pledge brothers Norris Alsobrook '94, Scott Keesee '95, Michael, and Matt Graham '94 at the house. "If we don't get involved, if we don't make the house a destination for potential students, the fraternity will eventually fizzle away. I certainly don't want that to happen at all. I know what it meant to me."
