He was dealing drugs to support his habit and eventually lost everything. Soon after getting out of rehab in 2020, he got a call from the mother of one of his friends, saying her son had died of a drug overdose. Troy went on Facebook to share his pain of loss and addiction. He didn't want to get another call from a grieving family member. Troy told readers, "You don't have to die. If you don't know where to find help, here's my number – call me." at divinely inspired post in May 2020 was shared hundreds of times, and he started getting calls from people who wanted him to help them or a loved one get into a treatment or rehab facility. With no information to give, he spent hours calling centers and compiling lists of facilities' intake requirements, locations, and availability. Today, 3½ years later, Troy's organization – H.U.S.T.L.E. Recovery – works with about 50 treatment centers and more than 100 recovery houses. He and his team have helped more than 3,000 people get into treatment. H.U.S.T.L.E. Recovery also operates its own facilities that house 70 people. "One aspect of our program helps people get their lives back," Troy said. at may require getting a driver's license, a savings and checking account, and in some cases, their children back from foster care. He had a great experience with his personal accounts at Redstone and knew the credit union would provide the same for his clients. When he asked his clients which organizations had the greatest impact on their lives, they listed their employers first – because getting a job is huge. Next, they named Redstone. A savings and checking account can feel like a fresh start. Redstone was honored by H.U.S.T.L.E. Recovery in November during their annual banquet and award ceremony. A lot has changed in Troy's life since that Facebook post. He said, "Now I get to wake up every day with a purpose and a drive to help save a life!" H.U.S.T.L.E.
