The ropes course made for a great bonding experience. As Scott Conroe '01 nears the end of his tenure as our Chapter Advisor, the need for new members is critical! If you are interested in joining, please contact Mike Bufano '07 at mb429@cornell. edu or Patrick Nowak '11 at pvn6@cornell.edu. And turn to page 2 for our in-depth conversation with Scott. A L U M N I S U P P O R T F U R T H E R S P H I TA U ' S L E GAC Y S ince meeting my first Phi Tau in Ithaca's Gorges during orientation week 2017, I have had the opportunity to meet many faces that line The Knoll's walls every year. I was overwhelmed with how broad the alumni network was during the NYC alumni trip as a new member, and I enjoyed connecting with those stopping by the house during Homecoming and other events. As an undergraduate, I was fortunate to have met many members of the Board of Governors and Board of Directors, and I am thankful for the many resources they provided the chapter over time (even though the in-house gym proposal was shot down). Now, as an alumnus, I've witnessed how fortunate our chapter is to be both flexible and resilient. Individuals on the BoG and BoD have addressed a variety of issues, and others in the network continue to financially support their efforts. The undergraduate experience I had would not have been possible without them. As a current member of the BoG, I see firsthand how involved these responsibilities are. Recently, I have been focusing on the data transition to our new alumni network partner, Pennington & Company, which involves updating and adding lost information. Meanwhile, the rest of the board continues to juggle many hats. And yet, the support of alumni like you remains crucial! In the past few months, several large donations have empowered the Alpha Tau Chapter Fund and a critical endowment to grow our chapter's assets. In addition to bolstering our finances, there is still a need for more alumni engagement in our chapter's boards. Attendance for reunions, winter congregations, and the NYC alumni trip has shown there is a demand for chapter services, but none of these events are possible without the organization and support of the BoG and BoD. For those who are hesitant about the commitment, being a part of the board is very flexible with minimal fixed meeting times every month. Even just addressing an email a week keeps the chapter going forward and helps distribute the many tasks at hand to a manageable flow. I hope you'll consider joining the team as we strive to provide for future generations and ensure Phi Kappa Tau's legacy continues to thrive.
