THE CORDELT BETA OMICRON CHAPTER OF DELTA TAU DELTA AT CORNELL UNIVER SI T Y FALL 2023 I hope this edition of The Cordelt finds you well. I'm writing to you shortly after spending an amazing weekend in Ithaca for Homecoming this year. We had our typically great turnout from dedicated alumni across generations, which is why our Homecoming celebration is second to none! While the list of those to thank for a successful Homecoming is long, I'd like to recognize Chris Litvin '06 for leading the kitchen crew (and also for winning this year's Alumni Service Award), as well as Alumni Chairman Subharghya Das '24, President Logan Roeling '24, and the entire undergraduate chapter for welcoming us back. As we discussed at our annual meeting, these are exciting times for Beta Omicron. We are in the midst of one of the largest and most important projects we've undertaken in our 133 years on the Hill. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of each of our donors and campaign volunteers, and under the leadership of Sonny Sonnenstein '90, we have raised nearly $2.5 million in the Our Home, Our Legacy campaign! This will allow us to invest in our Shelter, ensuring future generations of Delts have access to a world-class experience. Following some facelift work completed this past summer in the rec room and billiards room, the summer of 2024 will mark the first phase of major Shelter renovations. We have around $1.4 million of renovations plans focusing on the bathrooms, the foyer and entryway, and the dreaded kitchen grease trap and hood. We have completed the design efforts for these projects and are preparing the bid materials as we speak. Included below and on the back of this The Cordelt, you'll find renderings of the final design. While it has taken us a while to get here, I'm incredibly excited about what's to come, and I hope you all are too. Following the completion of this summer's projects, we'll execute another phase of upgrades in the summer of 2025 in preparation for our 135th anniversary celebration at Homecoming 2025. And as we begin in earnest reinventing our Shelter, your House Corporation board of Bryan Cuccioli '13, Andy Howlett '07, and Justin Hedin '10, along with Chapter Advisor Phil Fargo '16, is beginning to think about how we can also reinvent the alumni and undergraduate experiences. There will be new opportunities to engage and contribute, and I hope to speak more about this in our next newsletter. In closing, it is a great honor to serve as House Corporation president for this amazing brotherhood, and I can say I've never been more optimistic for the future of our fraternity. As always, if I can be of assistance, or if you have any thoughts or ideas, please don't hesitate to reach out. Be well, and Rah Delt! Fraternally, Mike Bonacum '10 House Corporation President michael.bonacum@ge.com A Stronger Future for Delt Lies Ahead Exciting Renovations Planned for Summer 2024 A rendering of the bathrooms. A new and improved look for the Shelter foyer! Brothers Young Hur '11, Dan Bishop '10, Justin Hedin '10, and Eric Stucker '13 prepare for Homecoming dinner.
