UNIVERSITY OF OREGON FALL 2023 Updates from Oregon Beta T hese are certainly exciting times for our alma mater! In addition to the new University President, the Ducks joining the B1G next year, and the high-powered football team competing for a conference championship, SigEp is back on campus. We Grow As We Go Headquarters deployed two new chapter development directors, Erik Fogth, Utah State '23, and Hagen Brown, Stetson '23, to live in Eugene for the first five months of our revival to recruit new members, select Chapter officers, and assist in bolstering Chapter operations. As I am writing, formal recruitment has just ended, and I am more than pleased to announce 25 undergraduates are now the new founding members of Oregon Beta. As always, we are eager to excel, and our undergraduates, with Hagen and Erik's support, have set a goal of becoming a 40-man Chapter by the end of the calendar year. Alumni Lend a Hand Volunteer Engagement and Education Director Brian Tenclinger, Renaissance '98, has been to the Pacific Northwest several times to engage with alumni in Portland and Eugene. He then recruited and trained our new mentoring committee, which will provide mentorship directly to our undergraduate officers. I cannot stress enough what a significant accomplishment this is for our Chapter moving forward! The mentor committee represents a diverse and talented group from Oregon Beta and SigEps from other Chapters. They will also operate in partnership with the Alumni Volunteer Corporation, which is currently 23 members strong. We always welcome more help, so if you would like to volunteer or are interested in mentoring opportunities, please contact either me or Jeff Nolz, South Dakota State '03 at nolz@ohsu. edu. We always strive to keep the effort light and the experience rewarding and fun. Alumni Reunion Weekend We enjoyed the recent opportunity to get together on September 22-23 for Brotherhood Happy Hour and tailgating before the Colorado game. We had alumni from the 1960s to the 2010s, along with some of our new brothers, join in the camaraderie. All the positive vibes and energy must have helped our Ducks give Coach Prime and his Buffs a thumping in Autzen Stadium! Brothers show their Oregon and SigEp spirit at the alumni weekend tailgate!
