1 THETA GAMMA NEWS PAGE 2 T heta Gamma sisters are focusing on academics, staying busy with philanthropy, and strengthening bonds with the important people and groups in our lives! ACADEMICS Our chapter's GPA was 3.53 last semester. We're setting up peer tutoring groups in addition to implementing study hours for our newest sisters to keep that GPA going up! "One of my favorite parts of my job is watching Tri Delts grow and pour into each other in every circumstance. Helping connect girls based on the classes they are taking and watching them create their own study groups is so special. I am so thankful to be part of an organization like this that lends a helping hand in every part of my college journey." –Olivia Delk '21, Director of Academics PHILANTHROPY We finished last semester with Coffeehouse, our annual event with Sigma Phi Epsilon that benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was a huge success filled with coffee and karaoke! We ended up raising around $3,000. Over the summer, Director of Philanthropy Mesa Offield '21 and Philanthropy Coordinator Cimone Trysla '22 traveled to Memphis, TN, where our chapter was nationally recognized by St. Jude. Theta Gamma was given the Most Spirited Chapter award and ranked ninth in fundraising totals for the year. Together, Theta Gamma raised a total of $121,131 during the 2022-23 school year! What a huge accomplishment. "I'm so thrilled to be leading Tri Delta's philanthropic efforts this year as we strive to raise $130,000 for St. Jude. I am already so proud of our chapter." –Mesa Offield '21, Director of Philanthropy KEEPING BUSY ON CAMPUS Sadly, we have no pictures from last semester's intramurals, as we became intramural flag football champions since all other teams forfeited! This semester, we plan to earn our trophies with a sand volleyball team, and we are in the process of joining some other teams. "I'm excited to bring together our pledge classes and grow our sisterhood through playing sports!" –Emma Smith '21, Intramural Chairman This fall, we are paired with Phi Gamma Delta and Sigma Chi for Homecoming. For University Sing, we will be paired with Sigma Nu. Our sisters also keep busy within other groups on campus. The members absolutely loved it, and it was amazing to see how much it boosted morale. Parents Weekend was September 29-30 on campus. This year, we had a donation box for our next sisterhood event where we will be packaging bags to donate to the local homeless shelter. Items included anything from protein bars to toothbrushes/paste to blankets and more! We love our alumnae and have been working closely with the House Corporation to create more events to engage with you all. See details for the Homecoming tailgate on page 4! In addition, a Golden Circle Afternoon Tea is to happen at the house. We look forward to seeing all of you who have paved the way for us! Delta Love and Mine, Morgan Martin '20 Chapter President Keeping Tri Dea at OU Song Sisters Push Themselves and Each Other to Be Their Best "CLC allowed me the opportunity to foster relationships beyond my own chapter and meet individuals who are just as passionate about Tri Delta's mission. I was able to share my insight of what being a Tri Delta means to me as well as learn about how I can convey that with the rest of the chapter " –Kayla Nguyen '21, Vice President of Operations Members of PC '22 taking a quick break from raising almost $3,000 for St. Jude at Coffeehouse!
