THETA OMEGA page 3 W ith another exciting recruitment season just around the corner, we're taking a moment to reflect on the highlights of the 2023 spring semester. Philanthropy events were incredibly successful, raising over $57,000. The semester kicked off with $20K in a Day, our virtual fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We exceeded our goal, surpassing $20,000 in just 24 hours. Our annual pancake dinner event, Delta Diner, was also a hit. "Delta Diner is one of our most popular events," says Bailey Bowles '21, incoming director of philanthropy. "Everyone gets so excited about it every year. It is so amazing to see the KU and Lawrence community come to support St. Jude through pancakes!" Aside from philanthropy, we also hosted numerous social events, including the Cupid's Crush semi-formal, a March Sadness date dash, and The Pearl Party formal. The sisterhood events this semester involved cookie decorating, Valentine's card making, and canvas/tote bag painting. Theta Omega's academic initiatives were also successful. We implemented Study DDDates, where members worked together and connected with others in similar classes and majors. This created a strong support system and allowed members to achieve their academic goals. Additionally, we hosted educational events on topics such as mental health, body image, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) workshops to empower our members. Sophie Kramer '21, incoming director of PR and marketing, worked hard to capture the essence of Theta Omega's sisterhood and values through photos and video shoots. "I love hosting these shoots and getting members of different classes together to create content for our Instagram and TikTok," she shares. "These sessions allow us to capture who we are while also getting to connect with each other in a fun way!" Finally, we ended the semester with a farewell to our current facility, which had been our home for decades. While we share so many fond memories, we are grateful to be building a new living space that can better accommodate members and will ensure Theta Omega's future. While we await the 2024 move-in date, the chapter looks forward to moving into "Hotel Tri Delta" at 1439 Tennessee Street where we will surely create new memories!
